SP Dolphins Swim Team By-Laws

I.Executive Board
A.The board will consist of a minimum of four directors and a maximum of five directors.
B.The term for each director is one year. After the one-year term, directors can volunteer for another term.
C.Three directors must be in attendance for a quorum.
D.At least one of the current swim team parents must be on the executive board.
E.The executive board will meet a minimum of once a year. A parent rep or an executive board member may call meetings.
II.Swim team parent representatives
A.The Executive Board will accept nominations or volunteers to be elected as parent representatives.
B.The parent representatives will be elected by a majority vote of the executive board.
C.The parent representatives will be elected to a two year term
D.At the end of the two-year term, the executive board can decide to extend the term limit if it is favorable to both the board and the parent representatives.
E.The parent representatives will serve as Meet Manager or a Meet Manager will be approved by the Executive Board.
III.Swim team membership
A.Swimmers must live in a residence owned or rented in Southpark I or Southpark II and must have paid all appropriate association and swim team dues to be eligible to swim with the SP Dolphin swim team.
B.Any swimmer outside the Southpark I and II neighborhood would need to be approved by the executive board in order to participate on the team.
IV.Coach hiring committee
A.The executive board will act as or will appoint a hiring committee to hire coaches to the SP Dolphin Swim Team.
B.The hiring committee will consist of three to five members.
V.Finance committee
A.The executive board directors will serve as or appoint the finance committee.
B. The finance committee will consist of a treasurer, a budget director, an auditor and the parent representatives.
C.The signers on the checkbook will be limited to the treasurer and the two parent representatives.
D.Any budget item over $500 will need to be cleared by the budget director.
VI.Swim team colors are red and blue.
